Durham

Durham has a population of approximately 285,000 and ranks as the fourth largest city in North Carolina (and the largest in Durham County). Durham played an important early role with its tobacco and textiles industries. As part of the Research Triangle, it has since become a hub for tech companies and medical research. Durham is home to Duke University and NC Central University.

Durham has a great foodie scene and is home to the beloved Durham Bulls baseball team. The American Tobacco Trail is a popular greenway system that begins in downtown and extends 13 miles south. People are drawn to the city’s fun, funky and edgy attitude. Durham has an amazing arts scene, anchored by the Nasher Museuam of Art, The Carolina Theatre and the world class DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center).
